The Devils moved into first place last night with a 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals, their 9th straight victory. They now have 34 points, 2 points ahead of the Rangers and Flyers. The Devils are playing amazing right now. This is looking like it might turn out to be a good season after all.

The Devils won their 7th straight game today, with a thrilling shootout victory over the Atlanta Thrashers. This has been an amazing turn around for the Devils, who started out the season looking horrible. Marty is back to his old self and the defense is really stepping up. Jamie Langenbrunner and Colin White are back after missing the first month and half with injuries. I’m getting ready to eat some crow, and that is fine with me. Go Devils!!!

One night they look amazing, the next they look horrible. What’s the deal? With a record of 6-8-2 and 14 points the Devils are (never thought I would say it) at the bottom of the NHL. Now, I know it is early but the Devils really don’t look like they are going to have much this year. They are just not consistant. If they can get on a nice winning streak though, they could be right back in it. We’ll see if they can start that tonight against Pittsburgh. Go DEVILS!!

Finally a home game!! Tonight is the first game at the brand new Prudential Center in Newark. Can’t wait to see this one. Should be a pretty fun game against the Ottawa Senators. It is going to be weird seeing the Devils in a new home. Hopefully the ice is in good condition and the Devils can win one for all the home fans. Go Devils!!

Really not much I can say. This team just doesn’t seem to have it. Marty’s not playing great, the defense is horrible, and our offense can’t finish off games. Guess this really might be a rebuilding year.

The Devils pulled out a 6-5 win on Saturday night against the the Atlanta Thrashers. The Devils had another poor game on defense, but the offense was able to score goals against and even worse Atlanta defense. Once again the Devils didn’t look great and Marty isn’t at the top of his game. The only good news is that the Rangers have looked just as bad as we have. Maybe we’ll start playing better once we get a home game. Maybe.

The Devils lost again tonight, 3-0 to the Florida Panthers. Our Defense has looked horrible to start this season. This is looking like it is going to be a very very long season. We just don’t have the players we need to contend for a title. I hate to say it, but it looks like we won’t be making the playoffs this year.

The Devils lost last night to the lightning 3-1. They looked pretty good in the first two periods, but the third was a disaster. Looks like our defense will have to step it up if we expect to win this season. The offense didn’t look great either. Oh well, always next game.
